Yes: go for it
No: look if you are getting branch of your choice in lower NITs but the dept is good in terms of placement, facilities, research & academic environment.. (if yes, get into NITA.. if No then you can think of dropping)
Frankly I feel if you have a decent program admit, you should not drop..
