Not that you asked for a opinion, but people like me answer to help.
For branches like Information sciences, Software Engineering are also branches that you can join. The Karnataka government does not allow more than a particular number of seats for a branch when the college is semi-aided like RVCE. So, to increase student intake they make new branch with different names but almost similar to CSE or ECE ( the branchs you are interested in). These new branches have almost the same syllabus as CSE or ECE but differ in only one paper or so.
While joining remember choose those branch near your actual branch interest. If in any way branch changing is not possible, those branches will also help you get good placements.
Also, branch changing is not a really difficult job. Do keep that in mind. RVCE offers really impressive package
