Reviews of: SRM University

  • 0

★★★

I graduated in 2012 and was a student of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) school. This review is on SRM University- Kattankulathur Campus which is generally referred as the ‘Main Campus’.

  • Location:
It’s located in suburbs of Chennai, a metropolitan city, which is advantageous when compared to many other universities in India. The campus is huge, but still no way comparable to IIT-Madras, which is like a jungle (literally) in the middle of the city. SRM is well connected by local trains to most parts of the city. It is very near to Vandalur zoo and it has got a three star hotel inside the campus for Hotel Management students.
And there’s SRM Hospital, for medical college students, which treats students from hostels for free.
  • Cultural Diversity:
There are people who speak Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Bengali, Assamese, Kannada, Malayalam, Oriya, Rajasthani, Gujarati, Konkani, Chinese, and a bunch of Nigerian languages like Hausa, Igbo. I know a Nigerian guy who was going out with Tamil girl and a Punjabi guy with a Chinese girl. And relationships among Indians who speak different languages are very common. English is spoken usually on the campus, but you are also most likely to hear Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
