Hostel in UPES isn’t compulsory at all.
You will have an option between Campus hostel and Private hostel. It all depends on you 2hat to choose. Campus hostel have many advantages but certainly with many restrictions.
On the other hand private hostels have less restrictions.
It is not compulsory at all.
