I want you guys to read this as this is the ugly truth of VIT-
- Any small issue can change your life here. A small mistake you do which university finds as a big deal, that’s all you’re over right there. You drink you are suspended, you smoke you are fined, you have a wine bottle in your room which is fucking empty-you are still suspended. I think you will or you should understand the gravity of the situation people face in VIT when they get into a mess so avoid that. You’re caught doing PDA, drinking or whatever a committee sits who takes months to decide what action is to be taken and till that you cannot live your normal life.
- You can’t really speak against the college or the authorities so watch before you speak. I hope you understand what I just said here. You speak shit you’re out of VIT right there so DONT!!
MUST READ-
I have written about me and my friends were out and some guys had bought the drinks so they all were drinking and the security came and caught all of us. Now the blood test was done and we had to wai for the result and when the result came we were shocked- The guy who never drank in his life had a positive result and I was right there with all of them and this guy never took a sip. Just imagine his situation. He fought with the authorities for months and finally, they declared him for not being guilty. Can you even imagine this, how he spent his each day fighting and his parents? If you are up to some breaking the rules, rethink folks!!
- VIT is too concerned about there reputation to let anything go public which would effect there Ranking in the future. So any suicides that happen on campus is done within the campus. No news nowhere, the world around you do not know what you just saw last night and this is a fact.
- You may get discriminated if you are a North Indian. For example- We use to send our friends who knew Tamil to convince the faculties for a lot of things and I would not say every faculty is that way but yes if you know there language there are pretty good chances that they will have a soft corner for you. I know Tamil and I have myself seen the difference when I talked to faculties and other security staff in Hindi and Tamil. Auto guys outside know Hindi but they will make sure they don’t speak in Hindi and some of them will take advantage of this and will charge you more by the end of the trip.
- You should never mess with the locals there as this can lead to serious adn dangerous consequences and the area around the campus is safe but there are places which are really not safe so avoid going there in dark.
- Just because you are in South India doesn’t make you safe. The locals are no less and be it Vellore fort or anywhere around the campus, some locals do harass you by following you and so much more. We once went to Vellore For,4 of us namely Lakhani, Shanya, Spatika and me. It was afternoon and there were some people around so we felt safe and kept walking into the fort when suddenly a gang of local guys came and they started holding Lekhani hands and we literally ran all the way till the main road and till there no one even cared to help us. So it is not as safe as it sounds, if you’re outside the campus do take care.
- There have been suicides inside the campus over the years. The secret is that the rooms with the golden locks are the ones which have been closed for years and they open such rooms after a span of 5–10 years and no one will tell you about this room unless people around have heard stories regarding it.
- If your roommate dies an unnatural death you get a sem off and a 10 pointer-LOL NO!! There was a suicide when I was graduating and the roommates were sent back home but had to come and give their exams so there is no FREE 10 POINTER. They do sanction your leave but you need to be back and give exams.
