Is VIT overhyped? Probably Yes !
Are the fees and ROI according to placement justified? A yes again !!
Let us get this straight ! If you were a bright student, you’d be in one of the IITs, NITs, IIITs, BITS, ISI or other similar institute and not VIT (bitter fact but true). 99% students who get a call from one of the above colleges leave VIT to pursue their career there. Now considering that you’re not among the top 1 Lakh students who are going to pursue Engineering this year and still are looking for a decent college that provides you equal learning opportunities like IITs, NITs etc. you do have to compensate for your marks with the fees of VIT.
The infrastructure, labs, expsoure that a student gets at VIT is comparable to any other top college in India and in fact it is better than most NITs. Now unlike top IITs and NITs, VIT does not get any funds from the government so to keep up providing students world class infrastrucutre, labs, guest lectures, visit to foreign universities, placement activities etc. they are solely dependant on student fees.
