No, not at all. The best part about UPESEAT is that it is conducted after other engineering entrance examinations like JEE Main, JEE Advance, VITEEE etc. And to be honest, people don’t fill up forms for selective colleges, on an average, an undergraduate engineering aspirant fills up form of at least 5 colleges to be on safer side.
So, my point is, being conducted after all other examinations, it’s easy to crack this examination as the questions are very basic with no negative marking. Also, getting a rank within 200 will fetch you the top branch of college i.e. B.Tech. Applied Petroleum Engineering with specialization in Upstream (B.Tech. APE – Upstream in short).
All in all, good luck for the exam and my personal suggestion, refrain from coming to UPES unless you are opting for branches like:
B.Tech. Applied Petroleum Engineering – Upstream
B.Tech. Applied Petroleum Engineering – Downstream (subject curriculum more or less similar to APE – Upstream but Upstream is given more priority)
B.Tech. Applied Petroleum Engineering – Gas (subject curriculum more or less similar to APE – Upstream but Upstream is given more priority)
