After completing my first year in BPHC here is what I would like to say
- All the lectures which take place in the lecture halls are recorded by the Impartus system so many students who don’t turn up for the classes usually watch them on their laptop. The advantage of this is that you can watch the videos at 1.25 or 1.5x speed and skip the lectures which you might not like. For example in the first 3 or 4 weeks of our second semester when we were being taught Probability they were teaching us 11th and 12th topics like bayes theorem and how to calculate expected value etc. Most of us already know all of this so no point in attending the classes.
- All classes have got biometric attendance so if you come more than 10 minutes late you will automatically be marked absent. This ensures that you’re punctual if you really want to attend the classes and hence many professors concentrate on teaching the course rather than worrying about taking attendance or other such miscellaneous tasks. Thus at least for the students who are attending the classes the teaching quality remains extremely good .
