I was a student of SRM Ramapuram up until last month. I can say, hands down, that our campus has produced the best results compared to KTR and Vadapalani for the last many years. Here, I will only be comparing the campuses of SRM present in Chennai, which are KTR, Ramapuram and Vadapalani.
I was from Mechanical background and our department topper, a classmate of mine, has a CGPA of 9.7 or 9.8. The average CGPA of our campus is better than the others.
OPTIMUM is the word I would use to describe the Ramapuram campus. It has a moderate library, decent sized laboratories such as Manufacturing lab, Heat Power Lab, Hydraulic lab, Automation Lab (I only know labs of my department). So there are nothing new, improved or ground breaking in these labs. They just get the JOB DONE. They will indubitably help you get good marks and maintain a great CGPA. That’s it. Nothing more, nothing less.
But your are not going to spend 8–10 lacs of tution fees just to get good CGPA. You need placement. That is the target of every student. And good marks doesn’t necessarily equal good placement. I speak from experience having watched all of my buddies go through the whole nine – yard to get placed. Only a few high scoring students from Ramapuram got placed in core companies with high packages and the rest of us had to be content with IT companies.
