Is SRM aerospace worth it?

  • 0

Here are my two cents.

Worth is perception dependent word. Item A might be worth a lot for one person and might be worthless for others. So you need to analyze the options that are available and what do you want to do or achieve; that will decide the worth of the option.

Moving on, before I write the details about SRM, there is one thing I would like to clarify which most of the people seem to be confused about. Aeronautical Engineering is different from Aerospace Engineering in the exact same way as an aeroplane is different from an spacecraft; and SRM offers engineering degree in Aerospace engineering, not Aeronautical engineering.

That said, let’s look at the following couple of points to analyze the worth of this course offered by SRM.

  • There are only a few institutes in the country that offer this course of which only IITs and IIST are better than SRM.
  • The fees is high as SRM being a private institute doesn’t get any funding from the Government (like IITs and IIST do) and hence the cost of infrastructure is recovered from the wards.
