NO, not from this year.
I do not foresee the RV institutions getting the status of an university at least in the next couple of years. The RV group has more than 50 institutions across engineering, medicine, arts and commerce and other vocational courses. The management has been trying to achieve the status of an university for quite some time now.The college is undergoing major expansion at the moment. New ultra modern hostels are being built, departments are being renovated, fields are being spruced up and connectivity within the college is being improved by building new roads. Since I was on the hostel student committee, I am aware (though not fully) of the construction plans in the next five years. They plan to build a new hostel inside the campus for girls too. It is said that the college is trying to get an entrance to the upcoming metro station from the campus itself. My guess is they want to improve the facilities and infrastructure by a great extent and get a better NAAC/NBA rating . That would automatically push their application for an university in the right direction.
