When UGC knows about the existence of a college and and approves that its degree is authentic and Faculty, Infrastructure etc are according to the National standards then it is called a UGC recognized college
A UGC approved college is one which gets grants from the UGC (based on the certification level) to carry out research activities other similar activities.
