It depends on the branch that you have opted for. I belong to the batch of 2014, so I can speak broadly about what happened in our batch.
Students from Computer Science and Engineering and IT generally get placed in their entirety. There is 100% placement, but only in CSE and IT. Mass recruiters such as TCS, Infosys, Accenture, Cognizant, Wipro etcetera among others hire students in bulk and retain or expel them based on their performance. Big guns such as Deloitte, Microsoft, HP, Amazon etc do visit, but hire fewer students. Generally speaking, by the end of the final semester, each student from the two departments was placed.
As for Electrical engineering, Electronics/Telecommunications, the road is a bit tough. Mass recruiters do hire them but not in the same proportion as their CS or IT counterparts. Other private companies do visit, but do not take many people, and many companies, my batchmates told me, aren’t worthy enough to be worked at. The placement percentage stands (as per my knowledge) at around 70% for these departments.
