Is it okay to work as medical officer for 3 years and get a PG seat under service quota instead of wasting time simply preparing for neet PG entrance exam after MBBS?

19 subjects, 300 questions in 210 minutes with negative marks … NEET PG easily one of the toughest entrance tests in the world considering that you have just 42 sec/question to read the questions and the options and to mark the option and that too competition is among the best of the best MBBS doctors.
Now if you want Radio, Medicine the competition is even tougher.
Freshers will be giving a tougher fight as they are preparing for PG right from the 2nd year.
Most of the students spend at least 8 to 10 hrs of preparation per day.
If PG is your goal, know the competition and work hard to beat the competition.

Now after working for 8 hours, will your mind be fresh to focus on your studies? Since you will be posted in rural, you may not be in a position to attend coaching classes.

Working as a medical officer in a rural area, you might not learn anything new and it will be a normal routine case. You can’t even Rx the medicine of your choice, you got to Rx what is available in the Pharmacy. Neither you get the job satisfaction of treating the patients nor the satisfaction of your preparations.
