I was personally confused when i were to choose between the two especially when i was being offered scholarship at both the campuses. But after thorough discussion with my parents, family and few seniors from the college, i chose Mangalore campus. Honestly, I wasn’t very satisfied after seeing the Mangalore Campus (as i had not visited the same during my counselling). It was nothing compared to Manipal campus. There isn’t really a campus campus at Mangalore, its a scattered one. But after having spent so much time there, I realized it was a better choice than Manipal campus not only because of better patient inflow etc, but also because :
i) it has a student friendly campus- the faculty is really good and gives a practical aspect to theoretical concepts
ii) well connected to other cities which will emerge as an important factor as you ascend into following years
iii) there are more places to visit in the city and nearby as well as to hang out in between studies which one will need to suffice this long course
iv) one can utilize the internship period to work in the after hours of the college to get some out of college experience in a private dental clinic and try to gauge the nuances of private practice
