Both of these branches have similar syllabus but the placements and packages might differ a little
Cause if you study IT then you will get a placement in IT companies with package offer not more than 3-4 lacs per annum but if you are lucky then it might extend to 10 lacs per annum. Also there is no guarantee for 100%placement
For CSE,some universities like VIT ,KIT and other deemed to be universities nuture the CSE batch in a separate manner so as to ensure 100% placement. Many people do get placed in IT companies with package offer 3-4lacs in CSE also but sometimes in other companies like Microsoft, Amazon you get a placement with high package offer like 12 to 15 lacs.
But these placements also depend on the universities you are studying in.
