Is Information Science and Engineering the same as Computer Science Engineering?

Yeah…Both IS and CS students study the same subjects till 3rd year..in your final year you’ll just have a few subjects different..But when it comes to placement point of you I have heard that companies prefer CS more than IS ..I dont have any clue of why they do so…
