I find myself eligible to answer this question since I am a female student studying at IIT Patna. Initially I was wary of the “patna” factor, however I can tell you that IIT Patna is as safe as any other IIT. Since there are a lot of programs and internships for women in technology, being IIT Patna is definitely a good option for girls. The technical clubs NJACK and DSC are very active and the good coding culture here is amazing. Compared to other second gen IITs like Mandi, Gandhinagar and Jodhpur I can confidently state that our growth is much faster than them, and from this year 3 new departments have started that is the Maths and Computing, Data Science/AI and Engineering Physics.
We had a team of students qualify for the ICPC finals and we had students get admits from Stanford university, Georgia Tech university and IIM Ahemdabad. Please check out an episode of the OBF podcast, an IITP podcast for more details about being a girl at IIT Patna, and also the placement brochure attached below.
