Is doing M.tech after B.E is really worth?

  • 0

I won’t give a one word answer like YES or NO, because the question can’t be answered in a single word. M.Tech costs you 2 years of your young age that too after a beautiful B.Tech. doing M.Tech is really worth if you do it from the top institutes in India and from a good branch. NIT’s are okay type to do, because the placement percentage is not that good in NITs for M.Techs even though it is quite good for B.Techs.

M.tech takes you deep into your area of study if you do it from a good college. there also you should be enthusiastic to learn, otherwise you will end up with a M.Tech degree in hand and with the same confusion in subjects that you have after B.Tech (most of the students have ocean of confusions after the B.Tech, only very small number are conceptually clear.)

M.Tech helps you to know about the subjects more deeply, and you may find it more interesting than industry jobs. if that happens you can go for Ph.D like some of my friends are doing. that is M.Tech acts like a bridge between B.tech and Ph.D, if like the way of travelling in academics you can continue your journey, otherwise you can get down the bridge after two years.

apart from that M.tech offers you a stipend of 12400 pm, which i think is a quite decent amount for M.tech student to manage his own economic issues, without pulling his dad’s pocket everytime he needs a penny.

coming to the packages, it wont be much higher than your b.tech package but your area of work be surely different in a job that you get from M.tech. in a B.tech job mostly you will be given a management role, and after M.tech you can smell the technical field.

if you have to support your family right after the b.tech i suggest you to go to job, because you can do M.tech afterwards also, if you want. because family is first and everything stands next.

if you measure the worthiness as money you make after M.Tech, it is not that worthy.

if you measure the worthiness as the knowledge you get after M.Tech, it is worthy doing (but, you have to do it from a good institute.)

hope this answer helps!! all the best dude!
