Yes, it’s well recognized by UGC (University Grants Commission), that’s the reason why BITS had to adapt change in it’s WILP degree nomenclature as MTech from MS.
No BITS WILP is not AICTE(All India Council for Technical Education) approved. Reason?
For Deemed universities AICTE approval is not needed since level of Deemed university is given to the institutes which are technically superior and capable of giving such education. AICTE does the task of only judging the technical infrastructure of the university.
Status of deemed university itself means it’s well equipped to provide technical education and hence no approval from AICTE is required.
