one extreme end of engineers are like scientists. the hungry people be like:”will his work produce food for my children??” we:”ummm…no…. but it will just estimate no of parallel universes.!!” if you are this guy then you know.. if you don’t know this feeling then nevermind… you are not this guy. be happy. they are like high science,but low profit to “our” target companies (not google mountainview you idiot 😛 ).because here in india, we develop on many small frontier areas of science.you gotta be atleast PG to get into any research on latest technology..we know something of everything but not everything of some things. a few companies prefer them for research.but you must know shit about your major. you my friend are not this guy because you are here on quora.
and dont be like the other extreme too… low science, big usability. like a mechanic.. or plumber or an mba. 😛 companies are here for engineers not managers.. first you have to look like an engineer. managerial skiils are just a plus.they are not impressed by your good looks (unless you are a girl) 😛
be the one with both science and engg. who will optimally produce output for the target company. be in interviewers shoes… and just know that what amount you should have of technical as well as sanity.
