If I am not able to enter one of the IITs for aerospace engineering and decide to take up SRM University for it, will it be a good decision?

I know I am pretty late to answer this question but this for Aerospace aspirants who want to join SRM to pursue Aerospace Engineering. Don’t join SRM for Aerospace Engineering. I myself am a student from SRM studying in 2nd Year Aerospace Engineering.

  1. First of all, only if you want to learn about Aircrafts then this may be place for you to get degree but not to understand the subjects taught by faculty. There are hardly 2 good teachers in which one of them was an IITian.
  2. If you have heard the phrase Higher Education system is broken. Its true. This course in SRM costs around 3.5 lakhs per year. That’s 14 lakhs for 4 years + additional expenses (like hostel fees or living in flat etc). And all this money is nothing but a waste in the drain. The quality is not upto the standards for 14 lakhs.
  3. You will deal with subjects like fluid mechanics, Aerodynamics etc. where you don’t have much matter in the internet. Its really hard to understand the concept and you may eventually lose interest in the subject. There have been times where I have lost my temper to understand a topic. Also, the University doesn’t provide you with books. You have to buy them on your own and study from it. There are good books available in the market but it depends upon you, how dedicated you are for the subject. Me, personally, hardly list
