Please work hard and don’t think of vit. I am a student of vit myself. Upside of Vit is, You’ll meet wonderful students with diverse knowledge and cultural background. There are many great student chapters in VIT which can enhance your personality and attitude. VIT has good infrastructure. Condition of laboratories and class room is good. Vit has M.O.U with Microsoft, IBM and has good research facility. This being said let’s come to down side. Administration is of Taliban mindset. Students are subjected to very harsh rules. Level of professors and study methods is not that great ( its average though, some professors are really good). No dissent is allowed in university. It is more like a boarding school than a college. Vit has worst record in gender equality. Administration passes absurd rules to keep boys and girls away. So if you are a girl please avoid it ( avoid any regional college for that matter. Chose liberal colleges). Now Placement part. Due to high intakes it is becoming harder to get placement. Most of the students are placed in IT companies (though some students do get good placements but its because of their own ability. Many good companies come in VIT). If you are of rebellious mind set please avoid. So in a nut shell if you want to come to a glorified boarding college (read school) then you can. But make choice carefully. And prefer liberal colleges such as BITS. P.S- I am writing this answer anonymous because if college administration finds out my identity i’ll be thrown out. This has been done in past. You can’t criticise VIT. So I hope you can understand what kind of administration we have.
