I am getting CSE in both VIT and MIT Manipal. Which should I do?

Whichever’s easier on the pocket.

  • If you’re getting CSE in VIT’s Category > 3 only then VIT CSE and Manipal CSE will be roughly equally expensive.
  • In general, VIT offers a larger pool of companies coming for placements, albeit with around 4x the student intake compared to Manipal. Manipal’s CSE placements are pretty solid too. You should look at the stats and decide. The quality of placements are roughly similar in both colleges.
  • Manipal offers a more hospitable student life as compared to VIT, as I hear.
  • VIT has a more flexible academic curriculum. You have the option of choosing your own professors. You’d benefit from this if you’re consistent in academics. Manipal doesn’t have this kind of academic flexibility, unfortunately.
  • If you’re aiming for a higher degree abroad post B.Tech, both colleges stand on equal footing. Manipal has a minor advantage considering it’s a 60 year old college with a strong(er?) alumni network
