Since I am from IIT Bombay, I would like to share my experience about IIT Bombay.
The first day of the college and you will be in your dreamland, meeting with the professors and your new batch-mates along with the student mentors who will be your seniors organizing the induction program. From this day on wards you will live a journey which you will remember your entire life.
In the first year, there will be course works and you will learn how to manage everything and enjoy life even in such high competition. You will have late night marine drive trips, online games, DC++ for all the required stuffs(I mean all the stuffs), night canteen chats etc. MOODI and Techfest at the end of first semester will help you enjoy semester breaks.
From the start of second year, everyone gets into their project work and the overall workload decreases so, you start enjoying and exploring other facilities more and more like playing various sports, gym, cult etc. Project work is a slow and steady work in which you will learn to keep patience because the more you explore the better will be your project. From July on wards, you pre-placement process starts and student starts preparing for their placements. But the amount of fun and enjoyment never decreases because of availability of various nearby places to visit near Mumbai. The placement month(Nov end to Dec) is a bit hectic till you get placed. After your placement, you will be like a bird who has got new wings. In case if you are a phd aspirant, you always have the wings in IIT.
