Well I will talk about CSE since I know about my branch a little more.
In VIT either you get a super dream package,a dream package or you get mass placement.I have seen seniors who have bagged a package of 50lakhs,40 lakhs,30 lakhs etc.I have also seen students who struggle to get a package of 3 lakhs.Well they generally are people who did nothing during their B.Tech and then expect some miracle to happen.
But if you an average student with a decent knowledge of your branch then getting a 7+ LPA will not be a tough job.Rest everything depends on your own capabilities.
