Most CS degrees are around 120 semester hours of courses, which comes to about four years at a traditional college
My program, at a state engineering school, started out at 293 quarter hours, and was later swapped to 135 semester hours, which is about 4–1/2 years of study, provided you pass every course the first time.
The syllabus can vary greatly. The school I attended had three different degrees from three different colleges: Business, Liberal Arts, and Engineering.
The engineering degree included a year of Calculus, Chemistry, and Physics. The Science classes include labs. There were also courses in differential equations, statistics, linear algebra, and numerical methods. For general engineering courses, I had to take three of the following four courses: Statics, Thermodynamics, Materials, and Intro to Electrical Engineering. There was a drafting course. A-l course in Engineering Economy. A Technical Writing class. A couple of courses relating to digital circuits. Two English courses, a couple of Humanities courses, and some free electives.
