Finally, finally I’ve got the chance to answer such question.. Well, thanks to you and quora. If you’re passionate about coding and wanna become a professional coder, then yes… NIT Silchar is the right place for you…
1.The computer science society:- A society has been formed here, named ‘CSS’… It is the most active society in NITS.. They do care about yout coding skills and they’ll make you work hard to become a good coder.. Immediately after the branch freshers they will conduct coding classes for all the CSE students… So, if you don’t know anything about programming yet, then don’t worry.. If you join NIT Silchar, the CSS will teach you the basics before the actual classes start… So, in the second semester you’ll fell you’re way too ahead than your friends of other branches.. That’s not the end.. They’ll arrange coding classes from some renowned brands like oracle.
2.The coding club:- While the CSS is for the CSE students only, the coding club is for students from all branches. Coding club will conduct regular classes after the college hours.. There you’ll be able to learn data structure in first year.. They won’t take any kind of money from you for all those classes..
3.The coding competitions:- Our college keeps organising coding competition in our college premises on a regular basis.. If you take part in those challenges, you’ll see the gradual improvement in your coding skills… You’ll be encouraged to take part in those… There are web development competitions, coding competitions and some fun events too.. Believe me, you’ll just love these competitions..
4.Faculty:- Well, as I haven’t entered into the core studies yet, I don’t know how the faculty members are.. But as far as we’ve been told by the seniors, we’ll love their teaching style and they’ll show a lot interest in what we do, how our coding skill is….
Believe me, I had no interest in coding and knew nothing about programming.. But now I just love staying around my laptop and solving some coding problems.. I never expected I’ll get that much help from seniors… I’m really grateful to them and I have no regrets at all that I joined CSE in NIT Silchar
