Hi,
I am BA Mass Communication student from Bennett University and would like to answer your question.
Mass Comm. from its very name is different from other courses because along with Journalism ,the course also focuses on various other means of mass communication.
These include- Advertising (Traditional & Native),Public Relations, Media planning and brand engagement etc.
The course not only talks about mass communication only but also focuses on the new and upcoming field in journalism.
We have studied solutions journalism, which has been touched by very rare universities in the world.
Also, as a part of compulsory subject by government/UGC, we have studied EVS (Environmental Science) for a semester.
The course is based on 60% practical and 40% theory, which means that students learn theoretically and then immediately put that in practical work.
The course has been crafted by The Times of India group which focuses on creating industry driven graduates and employees
