I will give you an honest review, and will be transparent about pros and cons of studying at BU. In my opinion, it takes 4 things to be successful in college education, especially in engineering education; good teacher, good infrastructure, good syllabus, and good student. I think we definitely have been providing the 1st three, and it will finally come to the receiver (the student, 4th factor) to use them and build a career.
Pros
- Faculty: All the faculty here at Bennett University have either PhDs or postdocs or both from reputed foreign universities, and excellent research profiles. You will find them at par or better than top NITs, and new IITs. They have several crores of government research grant.
- Infrastructure: Without exaggerating, we have truly state-of-the art infrastructure. Starting from simple instruments like gel analysis systems to complex ones like fluorescence microscope, RT-PCR, nanodrop, bioreactors, gene gun, tissue and cell culture facility, -80/-20 freezers, we have everything. You can visit the labs on weekdays to take a look.
- Syllabus: From day 1 of semester 1, the syllabus jumps into core biotech courses such as Introduction to biotechnology, Bioanalytical lab, and Cellular structure along with non-departmental courses like humanities and python programming. The core courses then goes on to become highly specialized ones like protein engineering
