XIME college is good in terms of quality education. The faculty is excellent at imparting knowledge. The institute provides a platform for personal development with both regular classroom based interactive activities and external seminars and conferences. With the cultural diversity present you learn a lot in terms of different cultures, traditions and languages. You actually get to experience the unity in diversity and equality for all. Campus food is suited for all. It’s neither too good nor too bad. The only thing that sucks is the formal dressing on Monday’s where Girls have to wear a saree and Boys have to wear a tie.You should be well groomed on all days otherwise you would be marked as absent for that particular day. In order to inculcate discipline in students and to make them ready for the corporate world and to teach them the value of time XIME faculty is very strict. They do not allow you to class even if you are late just by a minute. To get it enforced properly you have marks for attendance. For each class you miss you lose one mark. The scores are normalized there, so to get marks equal to the class average attendance marks matter a lot. If you lose attendance then your score gets badly impacted. Even on medical reasons also you don’t get any relaxation on attendance. If, for any reason you get hospitalized and are unable to attend class then also your attendance marks are deducted. If you lose all attendance marks in a subject and even if you scored well and got marks equal to the class average marks then also because of losing attendance marks your overall score gets affected drastically. In terms of placement, it provides a platform to get good opportunities however the package is comparatively on the lower side in terms of ROI. Almost all the students get placed in reputed organization’s at a package of around 3–6 Lakhs per annum. Very few opportunities ranging above 6 Lakhs. The placement season starts in December which is very late compared to some other colleges. Once you get selected in one company, you don’t get opportunity to attend any more interviews. For students in Kochi who don’t get placed during the placement week, it gets difficult to manage travelling to Bangalore for placements as well as to concentrate for studies at the same time.Sometimes it is so hectic that students from Kochi have to travel whole night from Kochi to Bangalore for interviews and then they have to travel to come back for some important exams or assignments in Kochi the same night. Even though there are equal opportunities for Banaglore and Kochi students, now even Chennai students however because of some lack of affiliations and accrediation for Kochi and Chennai some companies allow only Bangalore students for Placements.
