After top tier-1 colleges like the IITs, BITS and some NITs; VIT is perhaps the only choice that Indian students aspiring to pursue engineering have. Other private colleges like Manipal and SRM are also decent choices, but I’d say from personal experience that they’d come after VIT.
Here are the positives I’ve seen in VIT Vellore:
- Placements: A huge majority of the students here manage to get placed in decent companies, compared to other colleges around here. A lot of good companies (like Amazon, Microsoft, Honeywell and Schneider Electric also hire from VIT)
- Clubs, Chapters and Organizations: Students here have a lot of choice in terms of the clubs and chapters they can be a part of. A few of the clubs here are IEEE, Google Developers Group, Creation Labs, MAD, ASME, Microsoft Innovation Center, Toastmasters, ISOI and so on, the list is really long.
