Short answer:
Please, please, please, refrain from coming to UPES until and unless you have a passion for Petroleum Engineering / Chemical Engineering / Geo Science Engineering since they are some of the courses which offer good faculties and placements too.
Long answer:
I can write endlessly on this topic but I would like to focus on a few things only. First of all, anyone before thinking of joining a college looks up for placements of the college which sucks here at UPES. I’m going to tell you why. When I joined this college in 2013, there were 8 specialized Computer Science branches here in UPES and by the time I’m in 3rd year of my course, the number has grown to 13 plus the number of students in each branches. The stats I gave you is for Computer Science only, the university is announcing around 20+ new courses every year. You can imagine the number of students in Computer Science alone and the career services department has to get all of them placed. So, what college does is target on quantity and not quality meaning by, they want to place everyone no matter what is the quality. In fact there was an incident when a company (I can’t disclose the name) came with an offer of 12 LPA for 6 positions and the career services flipped the offer to 6 LPA for 12 positions so that more students get placed. I know what I’m saying is the scenario of many other colleges too but let’s take a moment and look at the FEE structure of the college. I agree with what Kartikeya said, seriously speaking, the package you get after getting placed from UPES is lesser than you what you spent every year on your tuition fee, hostel fee, living expenses e
