It doesn’t really matter which engineering college you go in. Its your efforts that matter in the end.
What I actually want to stress here is, your college doesn’t matter at all. It just gives us a piece of paper which we call our degrees. Building yourself, your personality, your knowledge, your perspective to see things differently is just in YOUR hands.
Now coming back to your question:
If you are joining Manipal, I can promise you, after 4 years you won’t regret coming to this college. I will tell you my own journey. First year was horrible. I cried, for days cursing my decision of joining Manipal. Eventually, having no other option, I stopped crying. (Doesn’t mean I accepted my college). Got involved with books. (I was an introvert having almost no friends).
Second year, I usually call this year as my “Tainted year”; still frustrated with manipal, 0(zero) friends, and the trauma of EEE, (Need I say more?)
By the time third year came, I met many people. Some through my roommates, some when buying books, some while talking to a teacher, etc, etc. All these people had a different view. They ALL excelled in something. Someone could write stories, some poems, some could play, some could sing, some were so knowledgeable that they could teach even our professors. And each one of them, polished their skills after coming to college. It hit me this time that I wasted my 2 precious years of college. I wasted the exposure it had to offer. Obviously, as a result 4th year was a ‘compensating year’ for me. I guess, I used it thoroughly to make myself who I am today. Looking back, I don’t regret joining MIT, Manipal. In fact it was my best decision ever.
