Thanks Vijay for A2A.
For internships and placements, there is a dedicated body at IIT known as Training and Placement Cell, IIT Delhi.
There are certain rules that everyone must follow even for self-arranged internships and off-campus placements
- You can not apply in the companies which have been blacklisted by IITs even for internships. There is a list on the website, Grofers being one such company.
- You can not apply in a company off-campus if the company is visiting the campus, or has visited the campus in the past three years. (Students couldn’t apply in McKinsey & Company this year as they had visited the campus 2 years back)
So you can apply in any company off-campus as long as you are not violating these guidelines.
If you violate these rules, Disciplinary Committee decides a punishment for you and you don’t get a clean final degree. 😛
Once you pass out, you are free to apply and join any firm you want.
Any specific doubt? Do comment.
