How are the hostels at IIT Palakkad?

  • 0

EDIT (Jun 8, 2019) : Last semester (in mid Feb) two batches out of four (Now 3rd and 4th year) along with few PhD students were shifted to transit campus. This answer was about the hostel-3 in temporary campus.

I joined IIT Palakkad in 2017 as a CSE freshie. And I too searched for this question 😉

See Roshin Raphel’s answer. It pretty much explains everything. But since we were given a different (new) hostel, i.e. Hostel-3, I’d like to add few more things and some pictures too. This is somewhat for both boys and girls.

H3 pretty much seems to me as a dream hostel (atleast to me). Double rooms (huge, really huge!), attached baths (woah, hostellers know what a heavenly feeling this is!), common room (in the hostel itself) equipped with a huge Smart LED TV(I used to watch TED talks on it late night, you can find people watching TV shows, movies and sports), Table Tennis, Carrom, Chess, and mind it, Common Room is common for both girls and boys, so here you don’t get hold of the girl-o-phobia (which is common in many IITs) and you get to interact with everyone and work together at times. There is a well equipped GYM too in case you care about your physical health and regular Martial Arts Classes by Dr. Swaroop Sahoo and Yoga classes too. There’s a volleyball court as well.
