How are placements of chemical engineering students at BITS Pilan-Hyderabad campus?

  • 0

Thanks for the A2A.

Before we move on to placement condition of BITS Hyd campus, I would like to tell you that in India including IITs and NITs on campus placements are not that good. There are other ways of getting a job like writing GATE and bagging a rank of under 400 could help you to land up in PSUs which offer 12-15 LPA.

The drawback of Indian society is they think chemical means petroleum and this is the reason why placements are not good in chemical. And at present I am tracking down fertilizer companies, material companies, biochemical companies, etc.

And one more thing. Don’t expect a high package at the beginning. A package of 8 LPA is a very good start because core jobs need experience and with experience you get more salary. So down the line if one follows chemical engineering, then he/she can expect of 30 LPA after 7-9 years. This is not an exaggeration. I am saying this because I know a person who is earning 28 LPA and he has completed his Btech in NIT Rourkela 6 years ago.
