How are placements in Thapar?

When you look out for your college placements do matter a lot in your decision. though it is an important factor to decide but don’t make it the only factor.The placements of Thapar University are better than almost all NITs leaving the top four or five
Placements of computer science and IT are the best in every college so is the case with Thapar.
(Only Cse as there is no IT in Thapar) .
Placement of other branches is a matter for serious concern not only in Thapar but in all colleges of the same ranking group. This is due to the fact that PSUs formed one part of recruiters for core engineering branches like civil mech electrical etc and now they have started recruiting from GATE which has been a set back for placements in all colleges including Thapar.
So, if you plan to do computer engineering you have no worries.
Mechanical is considered to be a top branch here and has good placements too.
Eic ( electronics and instrumentation) is the third in list when you consider placements.
Electrical ECE have not so good placements.
