What one of the PSD core faculty members once said to me while we were sitting in his office at PSD:
“BITS Pilani would not sustain even an year if you remove this building from the institute (gesticulating towards the building housing both the PSD and WILP at Pilani campus)”
If you could ever have access to the number of off campus faculty members we have and their credentials and how hard they work to have those companies added to the list of Practice Schools, you would know that although the amount is a lot, PSD deserves it.
I personally was against many things when I was in second year, but with each passing year, now that I am in my final year of engineering, I do realize that how important each and every thing I have done at BITS Pilani has been for my professional development.
My personal recommendation is that instead of grieving the inevitable, try to take maximum use of the opportunity. Keep yourself away from the indifferent mentality most of the students bear towards PS1. Please close your ears to those of your seniors who ever suggest you to take lite during your PS (both 1 & 2). Both are some of the best opportunities you would ever have before graduating.
