Change in branch depends entirely on the college you’re studying in. This practice is allowed in BMSCE (my alma-mater) and I know a few of those who have made a branch change at the end of first year. There’s a notice rolled out sometime in the second semester which will inform you about what should be done. However you need to keep the following things in mind:
- Your GPA must be good;
- There must be enough vacant seats available in the branch you’re choosing;
- If you’re a CET student, your fees will be revised to that of COMED-K
