Yes! Of course you can and YOU MUST!
This is a very important question in front of every non-math commerce student when they are about to start their college life. I was exactly in your place 5 years back with the same question and doubt in my mind.
I had always been bad at maths..had I had an option I would have left maths in class 6th only because i was so terrified of maths. But as I grew older i realized the importance of having maths as your core subject in +2.
See, as far as the rule was in my time (2015) , Delhi University did not offer a Bcom (Hons.) to non-math students. There minimum eligibility criteria is 60% in Maths for a bcom hons.
So you must check what the current rules are. Most probably the rules are still the same. But do not get disheartened. There are a lot of colleges that still offer a Bcom Hons even without maths in 12th.
Now, coming back to your question..so the answer is YES and absolutely Yes.
I was a non math student and i pursued Bcom Hon with specialization in Finance.
You will have Maths in 2 semesters but trust me it wont be as difficult as you think… with some practice and a little extra effort..you will easily be able to pull through…
Secondly, it is important to have Maths as one of your majors in either 12th or graduation..a lot of colleges in India offer courses that are only available to students who have a degree in Finance..
I hope this answer helps you.. and don’t worry.. Finance is not just about Maths..if you know basic maths (Addition, substraction, multiplication and division) you’re already half done! 😀
Hope this helps!
