As a software engineer, which job is better compare to PSU Job (as a Probationary Officer in bank or IT officer in PSU company like ongc) or Private job as a software developer? Currently I am getting 30k/m (2 year exp) in private software company and don’t know about bank and psu job salary.

It all depends on individual. I have worked in both industries . I worked a software engineer for a reputed MNC for about 2 years and made my mind to switch my career and join PSU bank as a Prob Officer . I’m in this industry for the past 6 years.

Pros of Bank Officer

1. Job security
2. Easy access to loans
3. Respect (if posted to rural areas)
4. Finally salary. Yes the inital salary of PSUs are considerably more than MNCs inital salaries ( currently about 40k for a new joiner)
