You can, and you should try to pursue tech internships particularly in the developed countries, but that completely depends on whether your Indian engineering college is ready to offer these facilities to their engineering students or not.
By getting these facilities from his/her Indian engineering college any Indian engineering student can gauge the then industry demands(of the tech industry in the developed countries) and can gain the industry relevant skills accordingly.
Since India is not any industrialised country, hence less than 100 humans in India can accurately answer all the questions related to engineering internships in India, primarily because they have been studying this post written by me after a 10 years long research on Indian engineering education system
