This story comes from our East.
There was once a potter in a village in Odisha, who spun functional, economical, and pretty pots and vessels for the needs of the villagefolk.
Over time, the villagers discovered a cash crop; they started making good money.
They invited all kinds of retailers of semi-luxury goods to set up shop in their premises; the potter, a poor man, was asked to leave.
All went well until a mild earthquake shook the locality.
All their earthenware was broken.
Frantically, they looked for a seller; however, the goldsmiths and the soap-and-shampoo guys could not help them.
