- That it’s not “over”, life isn’t “set” once you enter BITS Pilani.
- The tag/brand alone isn’t going to fetch you better placements, it may help but you need to back that up with a good academics and extracurricular activities.
- Placements aren’t stellar for every branch. Other than CS, if you want to get a well paying job you have to move to non-core domains like IT, Analyics, Finance etc.
- On the flip side, just because a branch doesn’t pay well doesn’t mean it’s “bad”. There is a lot to engineering, make an effort to understand and explore your field. You may end up actually liking it.
- Attend classes, it makes life easier. You’ll have plenty of time to enjoy after class.
- College is a time to explore, don’t stay cooped up in your room all the time. Join a club/department/NSS/Nirmaan i.e. whatever interests you. You’ll learn a lot about communication and management.
- Most professors are friendly and approachable, so make sure you utilize their office hours. Engineering isn’t only about doing well in courses, ask profs about their current research projects as well.
