If you are committed to working as a doctor in the US, the only pathway is ECFMG/USMLE/NRMP.
The US recognizes medical degrees from appropriately accredited medical schools from many countries. The US does not accept post-graduate training or medical licenses from other countries – except Canada.
If you do PG in India, you will need to repeat it in the US.
The requirements for a medical license in the US are completed during residency training in a medical speciality.
IMGs must complete a U.S. medical residency training program to be eligible for a job with an employer who will sponsor a work visa.
If you are enrolled in a medical school, please remember to register with ECFMG before the medical school accreditation requirements change in 2024.
