At IIT Hyderabad we have fractal system for academics we even have Double major system (in which one can have 2 degrees in btech).
The main difference between fractal system and semester pattern are as follows:-
In fractal system it’s. Up to professors when to conduct exams and how to distribute marks. Whereas in semester pattern all the exam dates and pattern is pre decided.
Advantages at IIT Hyderabad are:-
- Fractal academics
- Double major
At IITH a B.Tech student can obtain a second major by doing extra credits from another department of interest. The student shall not have backlogs at the time of registering for double major and the registration in the 4th semester.
Note : There is a limit on the number of students who can apply for a double major program which ofcourse is dependent on your CGPA till 4th semester. 🙂
