Let me get this straight,
I believe the new IITs do not really have massive differences. So I would suggest you that which ever place you are, be happy, realize that you are in a good place. Ranking these IITs is not fair since all of these are continuously developing. The scenario may be different in four years.
I am giving you the information from the official QS World Rankings for BRICS region issued in the year 2017.
QS rankings are the same world rankings that you might have heard on news (for eg: IIT Bombay ranked 162 in world this year, top institute in India).
IIT Patna was ranked 108th here. IIT Hyderabad was ranked just above at 100.
All the top 7 IITs were ranked under 100, most of them under 20.
BITs Pilani was ranked 109 here. ISM Dhanbad was ranked between 190–200 (24 in mining, which is why it is so great in mining).
I don’t know if the other 2008 IITs made the list. You can check it.
No other new IIT was above IIT Patna except Hyderabad
