People at chandigarh barely know about IIT Ropar. 😛
1. When I got in Ropar, My Grandmom asked me “Didn’t you get in PEC?” (she lives in chandigarh).
2.The cab driver who drove me to Ropar asked why didn’t I go to PEC, then without letting me answer, he bluntly said that I didn’t get in.
3. I was talking to my brother who is currently in 10th and is from a very reputed school in Chandigarh (Panchkula per se) and he wants to do non-medical in his plus 2. and he didn’t know about IIT Ropar.
IIT Ropar is around 40 Kms away from chandigarh, and unfortunately thats the truth. Deal with it.
Now new IITs lack only infra, and we’ll be at par with older IITs in 5-10 years. so no biggie.
Edit 1.
IIT Ropar’s reputation is changing, as IIT Ropar is maturing. People in Chandigarh are more aware of this amazing institute.
