Straight away, the complete thing is a lie in the first answer that you see on this question. I don’t know for what reason it doesn’t show my comment on that question, maybe the person has selectively disabled the comments. So I am a student in SRM and am currently in the second year. People get huge amounts of scholarships on so many grounds in SRM. Those who get a rank below 8000 get the merit scholarship for all 4 years. Depending on the rank, students get a 100 percent, 75 percent, 50 percent, or 25 percent scholarship. And even 25 percent of the tuition fee is a huge amount of around Rs. 65000. SRM even gives scholarship on the basis of your Board results. I had scored above 90 percent in boards and I received a scholarship of 62500 in my second year. Also, when you go for counselling, you will receive a booklet with all the information about scholarships. It is your responsibility to read that booklet. It was a tough decision for me to choose SRM because of these utter nonsense reviews on Quora but believe me, SRM gives you ample opportunities for your good career. There are 50+ tech teams on campus that you can join and implement whatever you learn. Now, the thing about studying from youtube videos is that there are certain computer science skills that are not a part of B.Tech curriculum of any college but are really important in the current computer science industry. So you need to learn these skills yourself. But, these skills are important only for the development of your projects. The placements exams are based only on data structures that is taught in 2 semesters of your college life.
